AI and HPC data centers continue to drive requirements for more bandwidth, along with more power efficiency within the data center fabric. The HPE Juniper Networking QFX5250 line of 1.6TbE switches, delivering 102.4 Tbps of throughput, is the next generation, fixed-configuration platform designed for NVIDIA® Vera Rubin and AMD MI450 platforms. The QFX5250 is optimized for scalability, density, and sustainability, delivering 64 x 1.6TbE ports, which can also be used to deliver 128 x 800GbE ports, and increased efficiency with direct-to-chip liquid cooling (air-cooled option also available).

In addition to high-throughput hardware, the QFX5250 runs on the Junos OS Evolved operating system and delivers AI-optimized Ethernet to drive performance for AI data centers. It implements congestion avoidance technologies through dynamic load balancing (DLB), global load balancing (GLB), static load balancing (SLB), and weight packet spraying (WPS). When congestion can't be avoided, congestion management features control congestion to prevent packet drops, creating a lossless environment. These features include DCQCN (PFC+ECN), interface and queue level telemetry, PFC watchdog, and per-Q Alpha Threshold value support.

Real-time network flow visualization pinpoints AI data center congestion hot spots with heatmaps and intent-based analytics for fast issue resolution.

Through Mist AI with Apstra Data Center Director integration, HPE Juniper Networking is bringing AIOps to the data center, delivering additional automation and insight to optimize data center experiences. Marvis Virtual Network Assistant for the data center extends the rich streaming telemetry and real-time monitoring in Apstra Data Center Director into the Marvis dashboard to provide proactive troubleshooting and analytics across operational domains.

The QFX5250 line of Switches supports Junos telemetry interface, a modern telemetry streaming tool that provides performance monitoring in complex, dynamic data centers. Streaming data to a performance management system lets network administrators measure trends in link and node utilization and troubleshoot issues such as network congestion in real time.
